Alrite?

I’m not.

I’m pissed off and I tell you for why.

My little girl has been poorly all week and come Friday I starts feeling a bit ropey myself.

Safe to say I’ve been on my back all weekend.

Aching all over, dozing off every two minutes, Sweating yet freezing at the same time?

You know, man flu like.

I feel like someone has come along with an axe and chopped me down at the knees.

Just whilst we are on this subject…

I saw a chineese lady on the services the other day wearing a full on face mask….

I’m going to start doing this….

The chineese have got it right you know…

The great unwashed spreading their ailments to fitness freaks such as myself is simply not on…..

So, no long run for Rookie this weekend, despite the fact I was very tempted at times.

Whilst I still feel like shit my legs are now totally rested and they literally feel like a couple of loaded machine guns right now.

Guess we will discover the effect of this unexpected day of rest come race day in a couple of weeks.

Here is how training went this week…

Monday : Off

Tuesday : 5k on the mill @ a speeds 15, 14, 15, 14 and then 15 for each kilometre

This is becoming the standard….

Wednesday : Mile swim in the pool

Thursday : 5k on the mill exactly as above

Friday : Weights session – feeling ropey as hell

Weekend : On me back – see above

To your amazing journey!

By the way, I have written a book, it’s all about how I went from zero fitness to completing an Ironman triathlon, it’s only just come out but it has got some fantastic reviews already!- you can check them out here: (also available on Amazon in the US but please read the UK reviews first!)
