Rookie Goes for 5 in a row @ IMUK Week 12/26

Areet?

Sad to report i’ve been plagued by tech issues this week…..

It all started on Monday when I wheeled me bike out the garage at 7am all excited full of beans happy as a pig in shit ready to cycle off to work and realised I had a slow puncture…..

Half an hour later and i’m still rattling around in the garage trying to sort it out, vexed and full of grease….

Pathetic…..

Me problems worsened Thursday night as I was ‘smoked’ by a lad on the way home….

“Is it your bike making that noise or mine” I asked as he came stomping past….

“Yours” he replied, far too smugly for comfort…..

Turns out me rear wheel is completely buckled and needs replacing……

So as you can see, training was somewhat disrupted this week…..

Let my incompetence be a warning to you……

If rear wheel punctures are currently taking you anything over 15 minutes to sort, then you need to start practicing them asap….

Don’t let a puncture be the reason you get a DNF on race day…

There really is no excuse for that…….

Here is how training went this week…..

Mon…..Off due to puncture

Tues…..26 mile bike to and from work

Weds…..26 mile bike to and from work.

Thurs….26 mile bike to and from work

Fri…..Off due to tech issues

Sat…..Off due to tech issues

Sun……10k run
