Rookie Goes for 3 in a row at IMUK Week 20 of 40

I’ve got me little girl this morning so you’ll be pleased to know I ain’t got time to chat shit.

Looking forward to getting out onto the loop later for what appears to be the first decent bike weather of the year.

Long may that continue.

Speaking of the loop, it sounds like the 2019 bike circuit announcement is imminent and as always, we must trust that IMUK are doing everything in their power to preserve the wonderful atmosphere that currently exists on Babylon & Hunters on race day which has become the stuff of folklore and legend.

Here is how my training has gone this week…..

Sat 9th.…A 3:09 IMUK loop…..I can’t think of anything more energy depleting than trying to ride the IMUK loop in icy gale force winds….Shouldn’t have gone really but what can I say….I’m addicted…

Sun 10th….Sunday 10k ish…56:58…Really was not in the mood for this…it’s been a very busy day and a very long week….The first 5/6k I felt low on energy and fatigued….felt like I was jogging ‘on the spot’….Yet towards the end I started to feel stronger…How does that work.?…56 minutes when you feel like that is a result.

Mon 11th…Pool mile 39 mins….Some kid kept swimming into my path….Where are the parents?….Ironman at work here if you don’t mind….Dad initially explained rules to kid but then clearly got pissed off with me himself and decided to play ‘block the ironman’……One positive….It was great practice for getting head up and ‘sighting’ just like we do in OW instead of looking down at the white line all the time….

Tues 12th….Weights sesh….Was seriously tired/vexed at work to the point where almost didnt go the gym but so glad I did as once I got stuck into the weights the ‘vex’ evaporated and my energy returned….Got to be honest…. I never expected that….

Weds 13th….30 min Watt bike at gym…It seems some of the tri-rivington boys are starting to accept me as the banter has started…. Honestly, it’s worth joining a tri club for the banter alone……Not that I have joined like 😉…. But lovin the banter all the same….

Thurs 14th….Training on valentines day????….FUCK YEAH!!…..Pool Mile…😉

Fri 15th…..Day Off…..What???….I’ve started a new job and its how you get in wiith em…🍺
