Rookie goes for 6 in a row @IMUK week 3 of 25
I’ve long said that the most difficult part of Ironman UK is not the actual race itself, nor is it the training for it……
It’s having the power to resist temptation on an almost daily basis……
Let me give you an example of what we are talking about here…..
On Friday, some of the blokes from work went down the dog and duck for a few pints and a game of pool…….
“Come with us Rookie” they cried…..
Being one of the lads at heart, I find it near impossible to resist…..
Love a game of pool me…….
To be fair, I went the gym first…..
But then I ‘caved’…….
Now a ‘normal’ person training for Ironman would go for a couple of pints max…..
Not me……
It’s ten pints plus a box of smokes then ending up on a dance floor at 3 in the morning throwing a few shapes when you really should know better at 45 years of age…..
Kebab to finish of course…..
You wake up in the morning feeling like shit, the 10k run gets shelved and you go ‘treat yourself’ to a maccy’s for breakfast…..
2 steps forward and 3 steps back all the time……
Pathetic…..
But hey, at least you had a ‘great night’……

Monday…..Pool mile
Tuesday……Weights sesh
Weds…..6km jog
Thurs…..Pool mile
Fri….Weights sesh
Sat……Off
Sun….10k run
Start weight 15/9
Weight now 15/3
