Rookie Goes for 6 in a row @ Ironman UK Week 5/25
The weather in Bolton continues to be ‘Baltic’…..
Sub zero temperatures and gale force winds as standard….
If you think I am going back up onto the tops of brutally exposed Ironman bike circuit in that then you can get fucked….
Still licking my wounds from the kicking I got last week….
There was a time when I would have ‘gone anyway’…..
Not anymore……
Bit older and wiser these days…..
Don’t get me wrong…..
I believe there is a certain magic in purposely going out and getting your arse kicked by the elements….
Adds a mental toughness and resilience that will serve you very well on race day……
But there comes a point when you’ve had that many beatings on the bike loop…..
You learn to pick your battles carefully….
Here is how training went this week…..
Mon……Pool Mile
Tues….Weights & sauna
Weds….6.5km jog
Thurs….Pool Mile
Fri…..Weights & sauna
Sat…..10km jog
Sun……10km jog on a treadmill as refused to go out lol
Weight at start of process……15/9
Weight today……15/0
