IMUK 2020

Rookie Goes for 4 in a row @Ironman UK Week 12 of 28

As always, if you or anyone you know is having a tough time with this dreadful virus, then all our thoughts and prayers go out to you.

In addition, Huge respect to all the front line public sector staff, the wagon drivers and the shelf stackers, without whom we would all be fooked….

I’ll be honest with you, watching the news on a daily basis, i’m actually feelin guilty for wanting to get out there and train right now…..

However, the government have said we are allowed to leave the house for one piece of exercise per day, either a walk, run or cycle…..

As trainee Ironmen, that’s all we need to hear…(especially when they add the word ‘cycle’)….

So for now, we may continue with the training to which we have all become addicted, so long as we do it alone and ‘well away from others’….

No problem chief….

Trying to fit that training in mind when the schools are shut and you are meant to be working from home whilst simultaneously looking after your little angel (a full time job in itself) with a boss who watches you like a hawk and can see exactly what you are loading onto strava when you are meant to be ‘working’….

Trying to fit it all in at present….

That’s a different matter entirely….

As always though, we don’t complain…

We count our blessings and we find a way…

One thing I have re-discovered as a result of this recent turmoil….

Me local 10 mile TT bike course….

Let me tell you something….

When you go onto your local 10 mile TT circuit and ‘have a go’…..

Magic happens…..

It’s what people did to get quicker before they invented watt bikes…..

You might want to give your local one a try as part of your ‘daily allowance’

What effect will it have on my IMUK loop performance? (the only reason I train)….

Time will tell…

I wish you and your loved ones all the best.

Training this week: (currently adjusting to bomb going off under daily routine)

1 x 10 mile TT friday (33 mins)

Hunters Hill reps Sunday (1:30 mins)

Total training : 2 hours (unacceptable)

Next Update : April 4th
