Rookie Goes for 5 in a row @IMUK Week 5 of 26
Areet….
Training for Ironman can be really complicated, but it doesn’t need to be that way….
Case in point, I’ve seen a few posts lately from first timers detailing their extremely complex training schedules, multiple sessions per day full of zone 1, Zone 2, Zone 3, Zone 4, lactate threshold, vo2 max & FTP…..
I’ve got to be honest, I look at these really complicated plans and formulas and i’m like….
WTF???
Fair enough if you are training for Kona or something, but for the average first timer, there really is no need….
Chill out a bit son…..
Stop putting so much pressure on yourself…..
It’s meant to be fun you know…
Me???
I just get on me bike and start pedaling cock….
My training at the minute involves nothing more than cycling to and from work, 26 mile a day, 130 miles per week, with the odd 10k run thrown in of a Sunday for good measure….
Simple as that….
And u know the best bit?
I’m lovin it….
Will it be enough?
Time will tell my friend……
Time will tell…..
